The Piano Sensei studio hosted a warm-up workshop on March 3 all about getting the body and mind ready to play piano. Adam Mayon, instructor at the Piano Sensei studio, has experience as a fitness trainer and offered his expertise related to wellness for musicians.
About 20 people attended the workshop in 2 sessions. There were children, adults, students, and teachers!

Adam led us through whole body warm-ups and body awareness exercises. And then we did dynamic stretching and other exercises that got the blood flowing and created warm loose muscles.

We also did rhythmic body movements and worked together in small groups to create unique gestures for different rhythmic patterns that we then shared with the whole group. A few students even volunteered to play something for us at the end, now that they were warmed up and ready to play!
